Threat Assessment & ManagementWorkplace violence prevention
From first warning sign to resolution.
Most acts of targeted violence are preceded by warning signs: a threat, a grievance that keeps growing, a fixation on a person or a place. Threat assessment and management is the work of taking those signs seriously, finding out how much danger they carry, and acting before anyone gets hurt.
Employers call us when an employee makes a threat, a former employee won't let go, or a domestic situation follows someone to work. Executives and public figures call when a stranger's attention turns personal. Families call when someone won't stop.
We investigate the person of concern, assess the risk with leadership, HR, and counsel, and build a management plan that fits it: protective measures, a carefully handled termination, coordination with law enforcement, or simply watching closely. Then we stay with the case until it is resolved.
Call early. It is easier to prevent than respond.

Cases we manage
Threat assessment & management services
Workplace threats
An employee or former employee makes a threat, posts something alarming, or won't let a grievance go. We investigate, assess, and help leadership act.
High-risk terminations
Planning and protective standby for terminations that could turn volatile, plus coverage for the days that follow.
Domestic violence that reaches work
When an employee's abuser shows up at the workplace, we protect the employee and the people around them, and support protective orders.
Stalking & harassment
Identifying who is behind it, documenting the pattern, and building the record law enforcement and the courts need.
Fixated persons & public figures
Inappropriate pursuit of executives, celebrities, and public figures, assessed and managed before it escalates.
Threat management teams
Helping employers set up a threat assessment team, reporting process, and response plan, and serving as its outside investigator.
How we plan it
Every assignment starts with three questions.
What exactly are we doing, what could go wrong while we do it, and where are we doing it. The answers decide who we send, how many, and how they work.
- 01
The job
Who is the person of concern, what have they said or done, and what has changed recently? The facts set how fast we move.
- 02
The threat
Who could be harmed, and where: a workplace, a home, a school, an event. Protective measures follow the people at risk.
- 03
The ground
Which tools fit the case: interviews, investigation, protective coverage, legal steps, or law enforcement. The plan stays open until the risk is resolved.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is threat assessment and management?
A structured way to evaluate a person who has made threats or shown concerning behavior, judge how likely they are to act, and put a plan in place to prevent harm.
An employee made a threat. What should we do first?
Take it seriously, document exactly what was said, keep the employee away from the workplace if there is any doubt, and call us. We can usually begin the same day.
Do you work with HR and legal counsel?
Yes. Threat cases touch employment law and privacy, so we work alongside HR and counsel and keep findings privileged where counsel directs.
Can you help with a termination that might turn violent?
Yes. We plan the meeting, provide protective standby, and keep coverage in place afterward for as long as the risk lasts.
Do you handle stalking cases for individuals?
Yes. We identify and document the person responsible, support protective orders, and can provide protection while the case is resolved.
Do you coordinate with law enforcement?
Yes. Where a case calls for it, we bring in local law enforcement with a documented file they can act on.
